چکیده

Radio Frequency IDentification is a promising technology for realizing distributed knowledge databases of the further. The proposed RFID database solution provides a cheap and feasible solution for indoor navigation, long term information storage and exchange between autonomous mobile devices and/or humans. For device interoperability it is proposed in the paper to organize data stored on tags using methods known in the semantic web research. The timeline scalability of the given solution is demonstrated on a cleaning robots swarm example, which is formally proved using a model checking technique. Key-words: distributed knowledge, intelligent agent, mobile robot, formal verification, semantic web, rfid

Experimental Analysis for Measuring Errors in Wheeled Mobile Robots (RESEARCH NOTE)

This paper presents experimental analysis of wheeled mobile robots. Mathematical modelling of the mobile robot is presented. The mobile robots consist of an omni-directional and three differential drive mobile robots are tested and moved in given trajectories and the systematic errors of the robots are determined. A new method for omni-direction mobile robot was introduced in which the robot wa...

RFID Technology for Mobile Robot Surveillance

The increasing need for automated surveillance systems in indoor environments such as airports, warehouses, production plants, etc. has stimulated the development of intelligent systems based on mobile sensors. Differently from traditional non-mobile surveillance systems, those based on mobile robots are still in their initial stage of development, and many issues are currently open for investi...

Decentralized Control of Multiple Mobile Robots Transporting a Single Object in Coordination without Using Force/Torque Sensors

In this paper, we propose a decentralized control system of multiple mobile robots transporting a single object in coordination without using force/torque sensors. In this system, each robot is controlled as if it has a specified impedance dynamics without using a force/torque sensor. The robots transport an object in coordination using a leader-follower type control algorithm. The effect of pa...

A New Vision for Smart Objects and the Internet of Things: Mobile Robots and Long-Range UHF RFID Sensor Tags

We present a new vision for smart objects and the Internet of Things wherein mobile robots interact with wirelessly-powered, long-range, ultra-high frequency radio frequency identification (UHF RFID) tags outfitted with sensing capabilities. We explore the technology innovations driving this vision by examining recently-commercialized sensor tags that could be affixed-to or embedded-in objects ...

A New Approach to Self-Localization for Mobile Robots Using Sensor Data Fusion

This paper proposes a new approach for calibration of dead reckoning process. Using the well-known UMBmark (University of Michigan Benchmark) is not sufficient for a desirable calibration of dead reckoning. Besides, existing calibration methods usually require explicit measurement of actual motion of the robot. Some recent methods use the smart encoder trailer or long range finder sensors such ...
